Facials can work wonders for your skin. Besides deep cleaning to remove impurities, you are left feeling refreshed and renewed. But, without proper after care, it may all be for naught.
Hydrate: Hydration assists in skin cells functioning effectively; helps to flush toxins and leaves you with glowing skin. Drink at least 2 liters of water daily
Moisturize: After exfoliation, your esthetician removed a layer of dead skin cells as well as natural oils that normally protect your skin. So, in addition to drinking plenty of water, you should also use a gentle moisturizer to replenish and lock in the moisture.
Be Gentle: Following a deep cleansing and exfoliation, your skin may be sensitive. It's important to stick to gentle cleansers. You do not want to exacerbate any minor irritation. Use lukewarm water when washing your face and neck and pat dry.
Use Clean Towels and Pillowcases: A deep facial cleans your pores leaving them open and exposed. Be sure to use fresh, clean linens and towels so dirt and oil will not clog your pores while sleeping.
Follow the Esthetician's Advice: Depending on the type of facial you get, your esthetician will give you instructions for after your facial. She/he may also recommend including specific products for continued benefits into your skincare routine, or lifestyle tips to help you achieve you skincare goals.
